Ultimate Star Guitars is an updated and revised edition of the original book Star Guitars. The design brief for this cover requested a die cut and to not focus on a single musician or guitar.​

   I decided to go with an illustration cover, originally making the title a piece of word
art. That idea morphed into using names of famous guitars to create the unique look
of Eddie Van Halen's famous "Frankenstrat" guitar.

   For the die cut, I chose to go with a slipcase so the illustration on the cover of the actual book could be embossed and coated with spot gloss. The slipcase itself was debossed with a leather texture, printed with matte black ink, and given a soft-touch finish.

   The final product feels like a guitar case and gives the customer a unique book to read
and display
