Kurt Cobain and Nirvana

As a long time Nirvana fan, it was a lot of pressure to try and get the look for this book "right." It couldn't be too clean or too grungy or too trendy or too marketable, but it did have to be readable. Showcasing some rare photography along side more popular images and a ton of memorabilia, the concept was to make it look like a fanboy's Nirvana scrapbook. Since many of the readers of this book would already know a lot about the history of the band, it was important to me to try and present it in a unique and fun way.

The design of the cover is a play on the term grunge, a reference to Kurt's art, and an ode to a similar photo composition from Nirvana's In Utero tour.
